Creating a New (Subscription) List

Creating a new list includes a few simple steps. Providing a name and description for the list is the basic requirement. Note that the List Name specified here is displayed in the Unsubscribe (opt-out) page for the subscribers / email recipients when they opt-out of the subscription. Hence, it is essential to provide a meaningful list name. Other parameters include assigning owner name, list category (one or more) and list source.

List can also be defined to include custom data fields such as product information, sales data, and industry. These data elements can be used to segment the list and target with relevant email messages. See the next page for information on defining custom data fields to a list.
