Conversion Tracking and Email Click-Thru Tracking

Conversion Tracking is an advanced feature to track the conversions from email campaigns. While Email Click-thru tracking can measure the number of clicks from the email messages, it can not measure the conversions (or goals) taking place in other web pages. Advertisers and web publishers track the conversions to measure the Cost Per Acquisition (CPA) as opposed to Cost Per Click (CPC) using click-thru metrics. CPA is a much more solid measure than CPC and preferred by Advertisers.

Conversions or Goals

When a user clicks on an URL encoded in the email message sent via an email campaign and the click results in certain action, then it is considered as a Conversion. For example, when some one clicks on the email URL link and submits a Sign-up request or Free Trial Request, then it is called a Conversion. Or an order placement in an ecommerce site can be considered as a Conversion.

Tracking Conversions via LeadPro

Advertisers generally use third party tools to measure the effectiveness of the campaigns and track the conversions. This results in usage of multiple tools and there is no way to see the campaign performance and conversion results in one place in an integrated fashion. For example, using Google Analytics Integration by LeadPro will help you see the results of email campaigns in the Google Analytics reports. However Campaign reports and conversion can not be tied together.

To simplify Conversion Tracking and lookup the results in a unified manner, LeadPro includes Conversion Tracking feature. A simple code snippet, generated by a couple of clicks in LeadPro, will be inserted into the conversion web pages (such as Free Trial thank you page, Order Confirmation page, and Sign-up Thank you page) by the advertisers.
